Conan Korea launches open beta service for decentralized storage network

Futuristic technology reflects in modern architecture at dusk generated by artificial intelligence

Conan Korea recently launched the open beta version of OceanDrive, a desktop platform facilitating decentralized computer storage. This platform enables users to share and explore their digital assets, presenting a contrast to conventional cloud storage.

Unlike cloud services, which are subject to provider policies and lack reward systems, OceanDrive employs decentralized nodes for storage, offers user-controlled access and encryption, and encourages participation through incentives.

According to Pyo Se-jin, CEO of Conun Korea, OceanDrive aligns with the current trend in the blockchain market, transitioning from Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) to decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN). After four years in development, OceanDrive is optimized for the DePIN paradigm and is now making its market debut.

The project aims to establish a global network of storage resources, with cost efficiency, and rewards, and ensure opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing. Conun Korea expressed the desire for the open beta service to showcase OceanDrive’s user-friendly system and distinguish it from traditional cloud storage. Additionally, the company is actively working on integrating OceanDrive into a prominent Korean fashion boutique and a major online educational institution.

Looking ahead to 2024, the company plans to use the insights from the open beta service to enhance OceanDrive, addressing shortcomings and maximizing its advantages. The ultimate aim is to develop a top-quality blockchain network infrastructure platform that can be utilized domestically and internationally.
